I was born in Sydney and lived there till I married at 21.

Every Christmas holidays we rented a large house with another family and went to the Blue Mountains.

At the time I did not like it but had to go.
Naturally we always went on the scenic railway.

Nowadays I just love going to the Blue Mountains and the lovely walks, scenery and yes, still the scenic railway -a lovely experience and a must do for tourists.

Yes and will go back
Yes. It's awesome.
I haven't been to the Blue Mountains but I do love going on funicular railways. I've been on a lot now, in both Europe and Asia! There's something very special about them.
Yes I have.

What did I think?

It was terrifying!!!! that's what I thought...LOL
Yes I have been on it and I enjoyed it

No, we have not been there. Perhpas one day we will go to the Blue Mountains; I believe they are magnificent, but it is not high on our bucket list.
Yes, both the funicular, & scenic railways across Jamieson Valley. Went two years' in a row. Will get back there 'one day'!
Thought the Blue Mtns & all that they encompass were just magnificent.
Adored the Jenolan Caves. Again, 'one day' will stay at Caves House. Is on bucket list with other beautiful resort there at Katoomba.
As was on School Tours, stayed at the 'Palais Royale'. What a hoot of an old place!
Believe it has the only 'sprung' ballroom floor now that 'Cloudland' has been demolished. Sad.
No,though I would like to do so. Growing up just south of Melbourne,we would take the Puffing Billy trip through the Dandenong Mountains which was always a gorgeous treat! I really enjoy the old Steam trains......
Jules, have u travelled on the 'Pitchi-Richi' Scenic Rly out of Quorn, SA?
Or 'The Gulflander' from Normanton to Croydon in NQ (it's a diesel')?

Been there many times and hate it. I believe the cars have been updated so not like the picture now with better safety features. Sometimes we would do the walk down to the bottom of the mountain and get the car up to the top. Just as frightening though.
I've been to the Blue mountains, but I've never been on the Scenic Railway. It's just too far of the ground for me! I'd be a nervous wreck afterwards!
