Has your hearing deteriorated at all?
Would you ever wear a hearing aid if it got real bad, or are you too vain?

My hearing has only deteriorated slightly, despite my age.
I would definitely wear a hearing aid if my hearing got bad as nowadays they can be very small and being a female you can cover it with hair.
I do not understand some people who are quite deaf but refuse to wear a hearing aid in this day and age.
I don't think mine has, I haven't had a test. I wear glasses, I have since I was 5, so if my hearing went I'd definitely wear a hearing aid. Why deprive yourself of one of the senses?
I dont know why meggf, however I know several males who will not wear one and cannot hear much!
I'm sure that's very manly ….. or something LOL
My hearing is still spot on.
Of course I would wear a hearing aid if my hearing did deteriorate or WHEN it deteriorates! This is one of our major senses and one would be stupid not to help oneself in this regard (in my opinion)
My hearing has always been very good.My ex used to say I had a bionic ear,as I would hear his often negative comments from another room!!! I also wake at the slightest sound which is quite annoying!
Do you have fibromyalgia Jules? I do and it is chronic for elevated sensitivity to noise :((
Funny you should ask this!! Yes I do suffer with Fibromyalgia amongst many other ghastly things!!
Yes my hearing has gone down low.
I went and had a test, and guess what! they told me....''Your hearing is fine''.
Then how come I have to ask people to talk louder? or I miss things all the time?
Rubbish my hearing is fine.
yep.... I would wear a hearing aid when really needed.
I think my hearing may have deteriorated a little. When I listen to the TV my family tells me that its a little too loud, but i sounds perfect to me. Its a little scary to be honest.
I have had a slight problem since school. Five years ago I had them tested and had two hearing aids supplied however I didn't like the sound between the two so now only wear one.
It is great to hear again especially the sound of the birds.
The down side is I keep losing the damn thing. I have fished it out of the dustbin once, out of the sheets before the wash...twice and lost it in the car twice. Currently its in my ear...says she laughing. Oh yes its always in the shower with me ...by mistake...I forget to take it out. I lost it once in the shower tray and it got very wet...didn't work for days then dried out and worked again. Whew it has more than 9 lives!!!
No I don't have a maid, so don't be sad. Yes, we are going by train.
I have the opposite problem. I hear EVERYTHING and it is so painful. I have used the mute button on the tv so much it is broken . . . ads that come on at force 10 with screaming and music etc. If I did go deaf I think I would enjoy the peace (!) Seriously though, I would not have a problem as the male line is deaf in my family so I am used to seeing hearing aids and would use one . . . though I can't imagine it getting to that point at my age. . . was that a pin dropping . . ?
Yes, I’m sure I’m going deaf or I’m partial deal, in my right ear.Have thought of getting the ear teats for a hearing aid. My husband is deaf in his left ear. A friend had a very deaf husband. he had the tests, & she bought his hearing aids from Costco. They are so tiny, I can’t even see them. It’s made a huge difference to her life as well, because she doesn’t have to spend the whole day shouting & repeating everything to him 3/4 times.!
