Nope, I try to avoid it since it's made of hooves. I use agar or pectin instead.
you can buy one that does not have meat products in it.

Yep, that's agar or pectin.
I have just started to use gelatine in my cooking and before the last week, had never used it.

I have now made two things with it, and it is easy to work with and has great results.

I made a dessert last night with one and it was delicious.

Fny... that looks amazing!!

I have only once used Gelatine, and I really am not fussed these days in cooking...Too many years of doing it, I just eat simple now.... :)

Ooops sorry Finy here is the ' i ' for your name :( LOL

that goes to show that if you put the first and last letters of a word, that is all you need -i did not even notice you left the "i" out!!
This recipe IS divine though very expensive to make due to the smoked fish!

Well Finy you did sooo good, really nice work :)

I haven't used gelatine in cooking. I bought some ages ago but never managed to use it.

Yes. I use gelatine mainly in desserts. It can be tricky melting the gelatine if you have never done it before. I don't like terrines, so I will stick to the desserts .
No, I don't, but I know it is very good for you. It's the thought of it . .. I'm with Jennifer on this.

I have not used it for many, many years!! When we were kids mum would make lovely things using it,so that was when I learned how to use it!
These days though,I just do not bother so much with it!
YES! However, now with Gelatine sheets being sold, how does one know how much powder to use when without these sheets? and, are all sheets the same size?? Guess I'll have to stick to David Gelatine powder and not make anything using G-sheets, unless someone comes up with an answer (please).
I bought agar agar for a recipe once as it's made from seaweed so it's vegetarian and vegan friendly. But other than 2-3 times that I've used agar, it has sat in my pantry. I'm not really one to use it in recipes as I don't make many desserts and I've never liked terrines.
I don't use gelatine I use the vegan alternative pectin. I used to really enjoy making cheesecake but I rarely bother anymore
No, hate it! Don't use it, or eat it in anyway.
Reminds me too much of yucky food items.
I don't like the idea of using gelatin. I'm making a cheesecake for Christmas and purposefully went out of my way to find a recipe that requires no gelatin.
