Do you use apricots in cooking, and do you use fresh or dried ones?

I have not bought many apricots this year due to the outrageous prices which have not come down in Perth at all!
They were still about $14 a kilo today which is the same as they have been for a long time. Cheaper ones are horrible.
I do use them in cooking particularly an Austrian dish I make with dought round the whole apricot and you put sugar and butter inside when cooked.

I also make one of my mother's recipes -an apricot fake -delicious but this year I have not cooked with fresh apricots.

I have also made apricot jam out of dried apricots, so they are quite a versatile fruit.

I used to use apricots a great deal in both sweet and savoury dishes.When I was in Victoria I would use Fresh ones.I have made wonderful jam here uin the tropics using Dried fruit. I am rather horrified by the sulphur used in the drying process by countries other than Australia. And the Aussie ones are now dreadfully pricey,when I can get them. So I use them a lot less in my cooking these days.

I've only used dried ones in cooking. The fresh ones are a bit too expensive here for that.

I love apricots but rarely buy fresh ones as they are hard and tasteless. This year I was able to get fresh apricots with taste from a friend who has a tree. I used some in cooking. There is a delicious apricot chicken recipe I love. I stewed some to make apricot crumble. Yum

ai used to have a friend who had about 130 apricot trees and they were so so good -she took off with my husband however -LOL...miss the apricots though neither of the two....sounds yummy

I'm not the biggest fan of apricots - I never buy them

I used to make apricot sponge, back when I was single but my husband is not fond of apricots so now I only have them as raw fruit. I do love them. My grandmother used to grow them.

I love eating apricots and dried apricots but don't cook much with them...in fact..don;t cook much at all really!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mmmm yes I love apricots! If I buy fresh, they rarely last long enough to make it into a cooked dish as I just eat them all! Mostly cooking I do with tinned or dried.

Fresh apricots, eaten when very cold, I love! Same with ALL stone fruit, for me.

Don't mind dried apricots, to eat, usually on a cheese platter. Also use them, plumped up, in cooking.

I use the dried ones in my musli, & other times I use the tin apricots. I used to buy the fresh ones in summer, but they just have had a boring floury taste these last few years. I don't do any baking, so I don't cook with them.

I too like the tinned ones and used to chop the preserved ones and add to natural yoghurt. I don't buy fresh ones anymore because they are tasteless.
