Do you think that Far North Qld will get a cyclone this season?

We've had a very dry "wet season" up here in Far North Qld this year. Central Qld got a massive cyclone but we've seen no cyclonic action up north - which is unusual since the season goes from November to April.

Do you think that we will get a cyclone up here this season?

Given the late start to the season, it is possible there will yet be a cyclone in FNQ, but I hope it will not be so.

The people of Queensland have had a great many natural disasters to del with in the last few years. We can only hope they will be spared further hardship.

Cyclone Larry came through in late March and last year we had a cyclone on my birthday - April 12th. So I still think that there's time for one to come through. We desperately need some good, sustained rainfall so a small cyclone or rain depression would do us good.

Law of averages says yes -it is cyclone season and even though it is late in the season, it is still 2 months to go and a lot can happen in two months!

Right at this minute we have Cyclone Nathan hovering off the coast. It looks like he will head back out to sea without crossing the coast. But it is definitely a reminder that we have plenty of time for a cyclone to still get us.
