I have built/altered houses using both.

I have found over the years that the European brands last FAR longer than the ordinary cheaper ones.
They are built to last whereas others are not.

The technology is usually better, they are quieter, and made of better quality materials.

However, they are often, double the price.
I currently have a lot of Neff products built into my kitchen and they are brilliant.

Things like ovens that clean themselves, combination cooking with micro and oven, which I use all the time -there is no tray on the bottom that goes round like ordinary microwaves, and heaps more.

The dishwasher and wahsing machine, you need to look to see if they are working (apart from the spin cycle) and I just think they are far more advanced -but then again for the price, they ought to be.

i meant dishwasher/washing machines are so very quiet, you need to see if they are on or not!

If you can afford them, yes better to get something that has a good name....and will go the distance.
I have bought cheap ones, they just don't cut-it!
You then have to take them back, or throw away.
Using up time and of course money :(
I'm not sure. Have not had a lot of experience with them, so I can't with certainty.

I haven't ever really paid attention to what brands of things I have in the kitchen! I didn't know that European had a better reputation - I will have to keep my eye out in future!
I definitely do, yes. We have a german thermomix, and an italian coffee machine. They're brilliant. Every time you spend less money in one hit you end up spending more money long term.
I have never taken any notice of the brands of my appliances - probably because I rent I have never had to buy a oven, washing machine, fridge or dishwasher in my life

I think they would probably be more robust and last longer...have never been in a position to pay a lot of money for appliances....it doesn't worry me though, I accept what I have with thanks...

I was always told to buy the very best THAT I CAN AFFORD AT THE TIME!!!! I have usually saved to make certain that I can actually afford quality! I think that many of the European items ARE much better as well as nicer to use that many cheap ones..I believe that this is why with cheap things, they will often simply be replacecd if there is a problem, rather than go to the trouble to repair them. Having said this,I have Fisher & Paykel freezer, fridge and washing machine, all of which I LOVE to bits, and which have lasted me more years than I can even count!!! This is a New Zealand company, and it holds well over 400 patents, is innovative in regards to the environmental issues we face, and it has manufacturing plants in N.Z ., Australia,America and Italy,as well as Thailand and Mexico!! I did know a lot of this info, but certainly not all of it,until you asked this question.Thank you for making me look into this even more carefully.
An appliance is an appliance - regardless of brand or country of origin. If it does the job then that's the only necessary criteria I feel worth fulfilling

Absolutely worth paying more for
No, definitely not. Have used Aussie made appliances for 2/3 of my life, & am not about to change now!
