Do you tend to watch television at night regardless of what is on, or would you do something else if you did not like programmes?

What would you do?

I tend to turn it on every night, and get annoyed at the rubbish that is on.

Sometimes I will play games on my i pad but I generally leave the TV on even when I do this.

I do not have the energy or will to do housework at night, so I generally do leave the television on regardless.

We escape this trap but not having any television channels.... if we want to watch something then we choose a dvd but as often as not we listen to music or opera or just sit and talk. Sometimes we even crack out our books and read companionably side by side :) If I'm on my own I enjoy listening to radio podcasts whilst doing my crochet. Rock 'n roll lifestyle, folks!
We have a "No TV after dinner" rule for the toddler. Sometimes we will watch a movie or something after the kids are in bed, but not often. We rarely watch TV programmes. My partner will download programmes that we like or that he thinks we might like and I will generally watch them when the children are at daycare. Most of my "down time" is spent on the computer attempting to make just a little bit of money.
I don't watch t.v. much.
Our t.v. is really my sons, so he has most of it for 'Gaming' or his friends or a video.
If he go's away....then yes, I like to watch show's like''Escape to the Country''.
So of a night I go on the computer, and do heaps of other things.
No I surf regularly thru stations to find something I want to watch....to the point where I realize it is contributing to a sore wrist! so I am going to keep the TV Times from now on and look at that to find what I want to watch.

No!! I am far more fond of reading (REAL books with pages!!!!) than watching tv! If there is something really worthwhile on the TV then I may sit through it,but usually I do not bother even having the set turned on!
Nope, I watch stuff I've downloaded so I don't have to watch rubbish. I love TV hahaha

Not really, if there's nothing on then I will leave it to play quietly in the background while I hit the computer.

Yes, I sometimes watch TV at night no matter whats on. This is also because I watch TV in passing or while doing something else. So I merely take glimpse at what others are watching.
If nothing on TV we just tend to put music on - nice to have something on in the background

I do watch television every night -particularly the news. However, I have my laptop sitting on my lap and switch from TV to laptop every few minutes. So I am really keeping an eye on 2 screens. Terrible really, I am an addict.
I haven't watched TV for months (except a couple of times at someone else's home). Occasionally i watch a DVD from the library. Most nights I do some writing or read things other people have written on HubGarden.
No. I have too full a life to be wasting a minute of it, particularly at my age when every minute of breathing and doing counts. Answer Angels is my 'time out' for creativity.
I time-move tv programmes, by taping them & watch later. 99% of the time, it's inconvenient to 'sit down' & watch a show as it's being aired. Other advantage of taping is can 'fast-forward' through the 6-7 minutes/about 10-12 advertisements! Way to go!
Our tv is on from the 5pm news until well after midnight ,so after dinner, if my husband is watching something I don't want to watch, I'll go & wash up, then take my laptop to bed. I watch iview or SBS on Demand if I'm not too tired. SBS on Demand has over 400 free to watch movies, so why would we bother hiring a DVD!

I like to watch the news and Escape to the Country as well as anything historical but there is so much garbage being shown late at night that sometimes I switch off because even the noise annoys me so I read or go through my emails.
