“Vee, who are you talking to?” “…Nobody”. This exchange is not uncommonly heard in our home. I have a tendency to think aloud. It helps me to ‘see’ things and get things ‘clear’ in my head.

Do you ever talk to yourself?

Always and often.. it's the only way to get any intelligent responses around here :)

But seriously... it's actually a very important part of my spiritual and personal development strategies. You might call it affirmations, but I just call it positive self talk and being encouraging of myself. After all... someone's got to do it.
Yes! I certainly do, much to the amusement of other family members. It's how I reason, how I plan - I just do it out loud!
Yes, I must admit I do.
When I play tennis I have a habit of talking or muttering to myself. It's normal. That's what I tell myself anyway...
Looks like I'm the odd one out on this one! I don't talk to myself.

Sarah, you're missing out on some good conversation! Lol!

I used to do it a lot, but I've broken myself of the habit, now I just talk to myself in my head....I wonder what that says about me...
I can only talk to myself 'in my head', as you say, when I am alone. Otherwise I can't hear myself think!

Hah! Vee......If I'm list-checking, always call through it aloud. Seems to 'confirm' better that I've DONE the check-list! Lol!

Yes I do, and I am not apologetic about it. Without wanting to sound big headed I have to admit I am pretty good conversationalist.
mostly in my head, pulling myself up and getting myself motivated and focused. rarely speak outloud but sometimes. strangely often in the car.
Sure, I think it helps me to focus at the task at hand at times.
Me too.

No, but now I've a 'furry forever-friend', I talk to him constantly!
At least I don't get 'back-answered', & he seems to like being spoken to!
Well, we all know that Siamese cats like the last word :-)) Oh, how I miss my long deceased boy =^..^=

Dear Vee, I have always been taught that intelligent conversation is a blessing, so Yes. I am sure my neighbours think I am nuts but I talk to myself routinely and also to the dogs and any stray bird, lizard, butterfly or wobbegong that happens past 00

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one, Rice Paper. :)
by Vee
Oh! Rice, I get annoyed with my Siamese when he tries to finish my conversations for me!
Guess after 21 months' with me now, he knows me too well! Lol!

Sometimes when thinking deeply about an issue or when studying.
