Yes, Rice, I like things to be very low key as well. I don't have people over for my birthday - though my family doesn't understand as they like to make a big fuss. It's really not worth it. It's nice to have people remember and wish you a happy birthday - that's good enough for me.

No.

I wait to see who loves me the most....and takes me out!
What a cute pic, lol. And, also, very good tactic!

I'd be doomed to failure then . . . my dogs don't have money. or purses. or cars. or even opposable thumbs.
LOL.

No. I didn't grow up with birthdays so I find it more of a chore than anything else. My brother and I always have lunch out but we don't involve others in our birthdays. Very low key.

We always have family parties for birthdays in our family. Every family member gets a celebration. Why should I be left out? We have the family party. Any excuse to get the family together is a good one. My parents are always there, because without them, I wouldn't be here
Never call people to celebrate. My family sometimes decide to come here but husband usually gets stuck with the cooking so other times it's dinner at our favourite Chinese restaurant and I'm happy with either as long as I don't have to lift a finger. I don't mind home though because it means I can enjoy my wine and don't have to drive as I don't like to drink while out.
Nope.
I do try to go to 'something', for myself.
This year am going to a Concert, listening to a fave artist, on Trumpet, with Band.
This is an event I KNOW I will enjoy to the max!
Who is the band, donjo?
by Vee
Oh! Vee, it's Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, & his own band from USA.......
by donjo
To my shame, I've no idea who he is, but the surname sounds familiar. ◉_◉
by Vee
Just Google him, Vee! The whole Marsalis Family are musicians'!

No, I don't call people. However, usually lot of people call me to wish me "happy birthday". Friends usually organise a girls' lunch which is always good fun.
Depending on what shifts my nurse son is working we always go out to dinner for my birthday, be it on the day, prior to, or after.
should read "lots"

Correcting your own grammar there, norma. I see what you did there. LOL. :-D
by Vee
Vee - I think I might be a bit "anal" about grammar!
by norma
Yes, but only for the birthdays celebrated by my kids.
