Do you put tomato sauce on chips, pies or other meals?

I used to put it on pies when I ate meat, and also sausage rolls and this morning I put it on my friend egg which slightly spoilt the salty taste of the egg.
I did not want to put salt on but realised later that tomato sauce is way more unhealthy than putting a bit of salt on an egg.

I rarely put tomato sauce on chips as that would spoil lovely, salty, can't stop eating, chips.,

I love tomato sauce on pies, chips sausages, bacon and steak.

I only like a tomato chutney style sauce ,if any,and only WITH a pie ,rather than ON it!! As for chips.the only thing I will have with these is Balsamic Vinegar!!

Pies and sausage rolls, yes. Nothing else. I'm not a big fan of tomato sauce.

Not chips ever, but I always like sauce on the side with a meat pie. This is in contrast to my brothers who I'm sure consider tomato sauce to be the staple and everything else the side dish. Mum always made her own sauce when we were kids.

In terms of pasta, no, in terms of having it with chips, pies, sausages.... YES! Your picture shows what looks like curry ketchup (popular in Germany!), rather than straightforward ketchup. Its also called red sauce round here, as opposed to brown sauce which is often used instead of ketchup :)

I am the exact opposite of this. I do not put tomato sauce on anything at all. I feel that it takes away the taste of the stuff which it accompanies.

no I do not like tomato sauce with chips nor do I like gravy with chips , I wonder when this idea came into being certainly not when I was growing up.

No. If you are eating good quality food, then it should taste great by itself. Many people are now addicted to taste - they are so accustomed to the synthetic stuff in supermarket food that they have forgotten what real food really tastes like. My husband tries to put tomato sauce on almost all the hot takeaway food that he buys.
Conversely, I have tried some handmade/ homemade tomato sauces that are just divine.

Missed out Snag Rolls! Gotta have Tom Sauce on them! I don't eat Pies, but if I do, it'd be Meat & Mushrooms, which begs Worcestershire Sauce! Lol!

It depends what he food is - Sausage rolls -always.
Chips yes or Brown HP Sauce.
Some great Pies it would be sacrilege to debase the taste of the pie.

We don't buy meat pies or pasties, but once or twice a year, if we're out somewhere, we'll buy a sausage roll, as I like trying them from different places. We'll only have the tomato sauce, if we don;t have to pay extra for it! We never have anything on our hot chips, which we also only buy about once a year in winter!
