Do you put your pots in the dishwasher, or do you always wash them by hand?

Even though my new Woll pans say they can be put in the dishwasher, I would not do this.

I have on occasion put cheaper stainless steel pots in the dishwasher but this is generally when they are not dirty and I have boiled an egg or similar in them.

It does not seem to do any harm to stainless steel, however I have changed most of my pots to the Woll brand which have detachable handles and are terrific.

Dishwashers do not generally clean cooked on dirt off pots anyway.

Our dishwasher doesn't work...but back when we had a functioning dishwasher I would put some pots in - those that weren't too dirty - if there was room. I kept hoping that the dishwasher would destroy the pots so I'd have an excuse to buy new ones, but it never happened!
I am my own dishwasher!!! I have never had a dishwasher and when at my Dad's place,I always found it so much easier to simply wash whatever small items I had used by hand!!! I do not like the idea of dishwashers when there are young children in a household,as I feel it is VERY important for kids to learn how to do these very basic chores.A friend of mine had kids who at 11 and 14 did not know how to wash the dishes, and I found that utterly appalling!!! So many kids are way too lazy anyway and believe it is their right to have every single thing done for them!! I am very much 'old school' in these matters and shall not change my mind about them Every member of a household should have some basic chores to do. It did not harm me or my son!!!
ALL is washed in my Dishwasher!
Ensure any item I buy CAN go in it, or I don't buy it!
Yep. Good thinking.

I haven't got a dishwasher, so everything gets done by hand. Back when I had one I used to put saucepans in it unless they had something really caked on that took soaking and scrubbing.
Well.....my husband and I are the dishwashers and our pockets aren't big enough for pots so we wash them by hand (and everything else too).

I don't have a dishwasher.

Never have......and never want one to be quite honest.
Something I am not keen on, and washing up by hand is what I like to do.
Oh! jonaj, wish I had as beautiful a 'washer-upper' as YOU'VE got! Too spoilt by far! Lol!

A dishwasher is a convenience commodity that works a treat on dishes and cutlery. However heavy duty washing of pots and pans, I believe is best done by hand, where you can scrub baked on grease and food where a dishwater isn't able to.
I do not have a dishwasher.
