Before I had kids I preferred to study at home. After, anywhere I can get away from noise is good. The library, or even a cafe, also have the advantage that I don't get distracted by housework that needs doing. I have a bad habit of procrastinating by cleaning. My house always looked its best at exam time.
I wish I could say I was disciplined enough to say Home OF COURSE! The sad fact is, that procrastination is far too easy at home. I become preoccupied by the dust on the windowsill that I have managed until this very moment to ignore. There is something about the collective energy which is generated in a communal area where everybody is focused on the task at hand - STUDY. It keeps me honest, it keeps me focused and it feels really good when I have achieved what I set out to. Library it is for me.
Always at home.
So much better, and I have everything at my fingertips.
I don't have other people around, I can leave my work at my desk...and make a trip to the toilet, make a drink.
It works for me! real well. :)
When I was studying, it certainly depended on my mood. Sometimes I'd do my best work at home, but at other times there were too many distractions at home and so working at the library was much more productive.
