I LOVE the flavour of fresh vegies, and because I enjoy eating almost all of the RAW,i rarelyy use frozen ones! As a kid I can remember having so much fun sitting at the table shelling Peas, and eating as man of these sweet little treasures as I could manage before mum caught me at it and threatened to not put any on my plate at dinnertime!!!She never carried out this empty threat though as it was all just part of the fun!!! These days ,fresh peas are so expensive so I do keep these in my freezer at all times! Funnily enough though,I use the unopened bags of peas as ice packs when I have injured myself in a fall, several times before they even go near the dinner table!!!!!
Aaaah! Frozen Peas....Gotta Love 'Em!!!!
When my husband was alive I always bought fresh veggies and only used frozen in an emergency. Nowadays, living alone, it is much more convenient for me to use frozen veggies as I can measure out the amount I want and there is no wastage. I believe they are "snap" frozen, so to all extents and purposes are fresh.
I use fresh veggies as most are home grown, but the convenience of snap frozen veggies which still contain all their nutrients is great, particularly when the fresh ones have a massive price hike during their season and the frozen packs turn out to be cheaper to buy.
