Do you pick up hitch hikers?

Absolutely Not.

I would have to know the person, say someone walking back from the shops and they live in my village ect.
It is something you would never do if your female, and a male wanted a lift.
Even if male, you would be very stupid.

That's if you want to see another day....seriously!

Having been a hitch hicker myself I would say yes but I would have to be extremely cautious.

Back in the 80's I used to...but now I don't. You just don't know who it is and what they have planned. Everyone is wired differently nowadays!

donjo, I knew a woman who would pick up hitch hikers. She was an older lady. When they asked her wasn't she afraid they might have a weapon, she responded, weren't they afraid she might have one. LOL! Touche, woman!

I have, twice. Once to a couple, and once to a man. I think I would probably be less nervous picking up a woman alone, but then, I've never seen a woman hitch hiking alone!

As to why, well, I've always wanted to hitch hike, so until I get the guts, I'll have to live vicariously through someone else!

I used to take up hitch hikers. But they are normally women, students or people that live in my community. Its something that should not be taken lightly.

In the 1970 s it was normal and without much risk but not anymore as it is too risky. The last time I picked up a girl because I felt scared for her but as I dropped her off I thought what if the next person does the wrong thing then I would be implicated having been seen with her. Just too hard and too many issues these days.
