Unfortunately not.
I remember my doll mainly and am so sad that I threw her out or whatever I did with her.
I did not know but much, much later, I would become a collector and go out and buy those things that I had got rid of as a child.
It is often heartbreaking when I buy or just see an item that I used to have, and got rid of.
Had I have known at 5 years of age, what I know now, I would have kept everything, and have a beautiful, original collection now!
Yes, my monkey 'Didgeridoo' or 'Didgy' for short. Got him for my 9th XMAS. He's been through my four nieces' & nephews' & amazingly they didn't wreck him, as they wrecked everything else of mine my mother gave onto them, including my two-wheeler bike! Back through my two children & now, full circle to me again. His facial paint has remained intact, so too, his fur. He was a pj holder. Toys were made to LAST in those days!
I can't remember what happened to my toys, but while visiting 1 of my 2 sisters a couple your years ago, I saw, to my surprise, a wooden ballerina on stings! You pulled the stings so her arms & legs moved. THAT WAS MINE! My sister had just taken it, not knowing it was mine, when everything was being moved out of the family home to be sold! My grandmother had given it to me when I was little! My sister had some other people there at the time, & when I saw it, I just screamed out..."That's mine!!!" I hope she was embarrassed! When I turned it over, there was writing by my mother, mentioning the date I was given it, but my sister had never turned it over! Since I bought it home, It's been hanging over my kitchen calendar, so I see it every day. I would have given it to the 1st grand-daughter, but I just can't part with it, again.
