We never had a toaster growing up; we always used the grill instead, which was annoying because it would take longer than a toaster to toast bread, but it also meant that we could make gourmet toast. So, I guess, it was actually better than a toaster.
My husband & I use our toaster EVERY single day. We love toast with our morning coffee, after our cereal. We also use it for toasted cheese sandwiches for lunch, sometimes as well.
You obviously have the toaster with the flip down side doors, not one of those useless pop up toasters in which you cannot make toasted cheese sandwiches, or even cook crumpets or muffins properly.
Yes, and I use it every day because my kids often like toast for breakfast. I read somewhere that toasters are the second most common household appliance.
I would have thought kettle too, but the survey I read said it was vibrators (more common only because people who owned them tended to have more than one). Not sure that really counts as appliance, but that's what it said. A lot of those surveys are rubbish.
Yes and Yes.
It's very quick and easy, and we never seem to have time much in the mornings.
Don't really use it other from that....I would be lost without it.
Yes, of course I own a toaster -doesnt everyone?? I probably use it twice a week or more if I am having crumpets with Golden Syrup.
I sometimes defrost my home made bread slices if I forget to take it out of the freezer in time for lunch, but have not known a household without this item!
Yes, & it's used daily for Toast, with various toppings, & a hot cuppa!
Mostly use of a morning, but sometimes enjoy a late night snack, same as above!
Thanks Vee :-) . . . Until I read this question I had completely forgotten that I had to use the griller as a child. Happy memories now of that wonderful, magical smell. We have a lovely red toaster and I think *him* would be lost without it. LOL
LOL! Sometimes I'm afraid there might be something in the toaster so use the grill. I once heard a story on the radio about a toaster repairman who found a mouse in a woman's toaster. Didn't tell her the truth, mind you.
When I lived by myself i used the grill, which was better than the toaster because I could more easily adjust the browning, crispness etc. We now have a popup toaster, and whilst convenient the toast is never as nice. It is either under cooked or very burnt in some places.
I own a pop up toaster and it lives on the bench. I don't think it has ever been put into a cupboard! I use it every day. I also own a toasted sandwich press and a jaffle maker which get used once or twice a week.
