I have so many clothes, yet working in an op shop I cannot control what I buy.
Result is I have more than,MANY clothes!
I do not need any but I keep getting my wants and my needs mixed up and see such lovely things, that I have to buy them....not that I ever wear half the clothes in my WIR.
Living in North Queensland where we do not have a proper Winter,I just do not buy any warm clothes unless absolutely necessary! I have a couple of gorgeous lightweight jumpers and cardigans which get me through when worn with my usual capri length pants. This is a super place to pick up very cheap sale items before winter actually ends ,so I usually get some to send to family members in Melbourne!
Since its a shorter season I usually wear the same with a few additions from year to year.
No. Mine don't see a lot of wear since winter is fairly short here, so the same ones come out year after year. I did just buy a new pair of tracksuit pants but that's it. The kids' clothes are a whole other story. They grow out of things all the time and need new stuff, especially the eldest.
No I don't have a lot, will prob buy a few more things
Goodness, what a question - it implies that most people throw their clothes out at the end of each season - can this really be true? I carefully, wash, mend, fold and put away my clothes at the end of a season then get them back out again next year. If something is completely worn out or no longer fits, I might throw it away and replace it but that would only be one or two items at the most.
I think what Finy meant was that sometimes as we all know clothes are not as well made today, as years ago.On reflection, I find a lot of my under jumpers(when very cold even here in Australia a few days of the year)..can and do get that dreadful pilling, and do not wash as well as they should.Or maybe? we have put on a little weight that means now clothes...for that next winter. :)
I have plenty of winter clothes to last me the season
I have lots left over from 18yrs ago!
I may not any longer be a big fashion statement, but I have kept a lot of nice clothes that wear well.
I do not like the fabrics we now have, and they make me too hot, so have been blessed to still have some really nice threads still!
No.
I've a 'set' of Winter clothes that I've worn for years! I bought good quality in the beginning, so it lasts! And still looks good, as well looked after!
It mainly consists of slacks-suits, which I just LOVE wearing, as they comfy & warm! Winter also gives me the opportunity to wear my highly-polished 'dress' RM's constantly! Gotta like that!
I tend to buy some clothing every spring (for summer) and fall (for winter) but never very much, just enough to replace whatever was worn out the year before.
MMm that old chestnut the difference between a want and a need.
Do I need to buy winter clothes this year? NO
Will I buy some winter clothes this year? Most likely.
There are just some things that catch your eye and need to be taken home with you (after paying the appropriate amount of course).
I rarely buy clothes at all, except underwear. I buy good quality clothing which lasts for years and as I rarely feel the cold, don't really have the need to buy much warm clothihg at all. As for the piling on clothes, I rarely have that problem but if I do, I bought one of those battery operated hand held devices that gets rid of it. It was bought for removing that problem on some of my mother's clothing as I do her washing.
I throw nothing out! I just wear my sleeveless cotton dresses, all year round.in Sydney, (Au.) I never have to buy more cloths, unless it's another merino black long sleeve top, as last years 1 may have stretched too much in the wash. And sometimes I need new leggings, but that's all.
The merino tops are to wear under the sleeveless dress. I bought another 6 this year, as spares, which should last a few years. The old ones I wear in winter under my pyjama tops!
