Heart lunch

Do you make fun school lunches for your kids? Or if you don't have kids, did you get fun lunches when you were a kid?

Sandwiches mainly for my nieces. My school lunches weren't that exciting. Towards the end of primary school I remember craving devon sandwiches. An exciting phase at that time.
Yes, I like to make it fun by adding in little messages they open at lunchtime. I had a pack of messages on cards. One for each day.
My lunches were just sandwiches and some other snacks. Nothing fancy and certainly no bento box of specially hand crafted foods. I think I try to keep lunches varied so its not just sarnies, I'll do wraps, veggies with dips, pasta, etc but I tend to draw the line at turning my kids lunch into artwork. I don't have the time and I don't want them to grow to expect anything like this in order to be able to eat their food. I have nothing against it and I made a burger into a happy face the other day (go me!) but it comes down to how my time is best spent.
I like cutting sandwiches into shapes for my kids. When they get a bit older and can read them I look forward to popping notes in for them too.

I love the idea of notes, can't wait till I can do that!
Variety is the fun in lunches I make for my kids. Something different every day:)
Yesterday it was Hard Tacos with tandoori flavoured chicken, tomorrow I am thinking Panko crumbed chicken strips (home made). Fun for sure!
Yes I try to experiment different food items for my kids lunch box
No, I didn't get 'fun' lunches when I was a kid because I made them. Needless to say, making my own lunch was not fun and I aimed to get it done as quickly as possible. I try to make special lunches for my husband though. Sometimes I'll surprise him with a chocolate treat or a little note to brighten his day.

I wish I was creative in the lunch making department, but no sadly not.
