We just finished our Gingerbread House this afternoon. A little too much chocolate, I think. But other than that, the house looks very cute.
Life's too short to make something beautiful only for it to be demolished within mouthfuls. A round ginger bread biscuit tastes just as good, is easier to bit into, and you don't feel any remorse for having broken it to pieces.
No, did not think about it this year. Too many other sweets. Just hanging out to detox from boxing day onwards.
I let the kids make it - so it looks very ramshackle. Then we take a few photos of it, and then they smash it up and eat it...Only lasts a few days, but only about 10 mins standing upright. They love it tho...
No, I've never tried. I think they look cute though.
The kits currently on offer would be a good starting point if they look appealing to you and your kids.

Not this year. I made one a few years ago and it was fun to decorate, but the kit I had bought was gingerbread based, which I didn't like, so it put me off doing it again.
I was given a Gingerbread house kit just recently. Maybe I should get cracking on that. So the answer would be - yes - if I don't leave it too late! ;)
Never made one....sadly.

Not enough time these days.
There are some lovely bought ones, but I do get them given to me, and my 20 yr old son made one last year at Camp.
It was very good.
I did make a gingerbread house from scratch a few years ago and it was a lot of fun but labour intensive.
yes! My church organisers a gingerbread house making afternoon every year. My kids, my girl pals and I, we all have a good laugh and a good time making our gingerbread houses. Our kids have a ball demolishing the Gingerbread house on Christmas eve!
I noticed a few ginger bread houses on fb this year and i wondered what they had to do with christmas?
we do bake but i have never made gingerbread at home....i have never made it
