Do you like your popcorn sweet or salty?

I prefer salty, though I do make some delicious caramel popcorn...

I vote for sweet, caramel or butterscotch for preference but if that isn't available then plain old sugar will do.... having said that, I wouldn't turn down salty if that's all that was available!

What about salted caramel? It's delicious!

I haven't actually eaten popcorn in years, so I am unlikely to try it soon. A few months ago, a group of us were discussing salted/sweet popcorn, and most of us thought the idea was horrible.

Salted caramel is lovely, but I'd rather not have it with popcorn. I see it as a savoury snack.

Anyway it comes to be honest.

It is one food that can be made with so many different elements,
It's an amazing food.
I will try it in any flavour, for fun. :)

Oh now, there's a challenge! What flavours have you tried?

Over many years a lot! lol....Caramel-Melted Butter-Chocolate-Peanut Butter
and on and on it go's.I can't fully remember all of them, but it's a lot.
In the end I still think people like it plain and salted.

I love the sweet AND salty variety, Verity. It's so moorish! If I can't have both though, I'm happy with either. Both have their merits!

I like salty.

However, I recently tasted caramel popcorn and this was delicious so I would have to say I like both but have salty more often.

I rarely have it anyway.

I have always liked homemade popcorn which we have salted. However now I have discovered salted caramel and it is absolutely delicious and irresistible. The sweet/salty combo is just so more-ish!

Cake is sweet, chocolate is sweet, ice cream is sweet. Popcorn is savoury and should remain savoury. Nothing worse to me than sweet tasting, sickly caramel anything, let a lone popcorn.

Have noticed 'salt' popcorn now seems just to have salt just 'waved' over it! Not salty at all, IMO!

Woolies 'select' brand used to have 'sea salt' which one could taste, & once eaten there was a nice little layer sitting at the bottom of the packet to enjoy!

That's not happening now, & hasn't done for the last several months'. It's so bland I find it inedible.
Yuk!

I really wonder what % of salt must be on product to be legally labelled 'salt'?
As it's now so less tasting of salt, when does price reduce?
(That's a joke question!)

I haven't eaten it for so many years, I'd forgotten
how it was served up! I have a packet of it in the pantry to be cooked in the microwave, at some stage! I have a jar of pink salt so I might sprinkle some of that over it!
