I like pears and I like any type apart from those expensive ones - cannot remember the name - I really dislike them, and cannot understand why they are so expensive.
Pears also go very well with a lot of savoury dishes and I use them regularly in cooking.
meh.. Pears are okay.
Not my fruit of choice. I find they can be super bland, well the supermarket ones can be.
Honestly, i've had some that were so bland, it was like chewing an old leather sofa cushion.
I like pears as long as they are nice and ripe. I find that most pears in the supermarket are rock hard
yes they are AJ -agreed -some ripen and some just do not! I treat them like an apple if they do not but they are not juicy like they used to be when you buy them.
I love pears when they're crisp. I'll eat pears in both sweet and savoury dishes but most often these days will just enjoy eating it in it's purest form. My favourite pears are definitely the nashi and beurre bosc varieties - especially paired with some stinky cheese !
I don't see a big variety of pears at the local grocery store. I used to enjoy the Bartlett pears, but don't see many of those around, so now I buy the William pears. Pears just don't taste delicious and full of juice like they used to. The ones at the store seem very hard, with little taste, so I haven't bought any for a while. Maybe I'll give the new seasons ones a try. They are in season, so they should taste better.
They are nice at the moment Lluxi. I like to leave mine in a bowl to ripen for a while. They are picked while hard because they are so difficult to transport . A ripe pears is a delicate and delicious thing.
I have bought some today, Annfi !!! See what they taste like.
I have only had Bosc pears. I like them but do not have them often.
I Love them.
I just like the soft ones, that are a very light green.
I use to stew them, and have with some custard.
Totally Yum.
Yes, I like them. They can be tasteless so I stick to the Williams and Buerre Bosc as they seem pretty reliable.
I do enjoy pears, though they do not seem as flavoursome as the ones we would get when I was a child. Being in North Qld, many of the pears here sem to have been kept in a cold room for too long, so they cannot ripen naturally! I like my pears to be firm but juicy!! I also enjoy using them in cooking, or just stewed by themselves simply with sugar and cloves.
I like pears any sort is fine. But the pears from the supermarket are rock hard and green and by the time they ripen they are horrible or rotton and brown inside
I love pears, and like to slice them and heat them in the oven until they begin to brown, sweet! I like them to be ripe, and don't mind any variety, when they're ripe, I love all of them!
No, I've never been keen on pears, I've never liked the texture.
Yes. I don't know what it's called, but it's the brown one - fifth one from the left. That's my favourite kind of pear. To be fair, I haven't tried many varieties.
Yes I like pears. I like their shape and think they look beautiful in a display. I keep most fruit and tomatoes out of the fridge so that their flavour improves, and like to make an attractive arrangement. I wonder if those who find fruit tasteless eat them too early or too cold?
I have some very tasty yellow ones with a delicate blush at the moment that were a pretty shade of green when I bought them and not great to eat. I love Buerre Bosh , the brown ones- sorry, probably misspelled. They look like they should be in a classic still life painting- I intend to do one some time. I like their flavour as well.
Pears are so versatile with sweet or savoury, raw or cooked , juiced or as a sauce. I believe that they have something that is very good for our skin and nails, Silica maybe? I know they are helpfull to keep bowels regular.
I don't buy pears very often, because of the lack of taste, but when i used to buy them, a few years ago, it was always the 'Winter Cole' I bought, (2nd from the right in the above photo.)
