Hmmmm, i LOVE creme caramel, but then again I love most desserts!
Creme caramel is actually not so sweet, it is the topping or sauce that makes it sweet and I love it when this has some toffee or crunchy bits on it as the texture goes so very well with the soft not so sweet eggy custard!
Shame I can no longer eat it however tomorrow I take a friend to the best buffet for her birthday and I will have about 10 different desserts - JUST FOR ONCE!
Oh Finy dessert I was once told is the 'most important', by my dear friend....she loved them. Hope you girls have the best time :)
As much as I like Air!!!
LOVE......LOVE........LOVE
Oh yummy!!! Is the pope a catholic? You bet I do!!! I have made it at home for dinner parties, and have always received numerous compliments. Ohhh that toffee sauce is just to die for !!!
that is one thing I have never made at home!
Its not that hard. I put it in individual ramekins for each guest.
the recipe I had was for a big one, recipe I have had at a friends, and delicious - either way, it is delicious!
Yes. It doesn't matter how you serve it. Big bowl or little bowl. It looks so nice when you invert it and all the toffee sauce runs down.
Never had it but it looks so creamy and yummy that I'm definitely up for a try. I like desserts if they are not overly sweet. But I'm guessing I will like the texture of creme caramel either ways.
where did you say you were from?
Definitely not over sweet KanchanN, I think you would like it, it's very silky. Oh, now I want one :( LOL
Never had it. I do like my sweet goodies though.
Yes. I like it a lot. I like anything custardy. Mmmmmm.
Being made from Egg, I do not eat this at all! I am not that fond of the custard anyway, so it is no big loss to me! I do, however, adore the crunchy toffee which forms when these are made correctly!!! My mum used to do really lovely ones!!!
Yessssssssssssss. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Wanty wanty. Can't havey havey :(
me either ricey, riceeeeey
We could cry into our beer together . . . . but we probably can't have that either :(
waaaaaaaaaaaaaah. (Luckily, I dislike beer etc.)
Mmmmm. I always make sure I have creme caramel from the buffet as most Asian buffets provide this sweet, although at times the crunch is missing so better to order it from a restaurant to get the crunch.
I am confused. I thought the crunchy one was crème brûlée . . . . . I can't recall a crème caramel with crunch. . . . hang on, I've googled it . . . >
I like Creme Caramel because it has a soft creamy consistency that just melts in your mouth and coats your tongue.
One thing that can let a good Creme Caramel down though is if the caramel sauce is too sweet as that can overpower the custard and all you end up tasting is toffee (or if not done properly it can just taste like burnt sugar).
I would eat it if nothing else was on offer but its far from a favorite of mine
Oh YUM! Yes, one of my favourites too! Anything with custard, I could eat one now!
I just noticed my googling didn't appear, so :-
> I'll eat whichever is put in front of me :-)))
And with that, I give up.
I would rather eat creme caramel than spend time with anyone other than my grandkids....
Creme caramel, brûlée and English bread and butter custard. I am starving.
Yes, I do enjoy a good creme caramel.
