Do you like caramel either with sweets or savoury meals?

I do not like caramel lollies as they seem to be just pure sugar but I love caramel in every other way including the link to Caramel Chicken.

Caramel can give a lovely taste to savoury dishes and I buy a very thick caramel "sauce" to put on ice cream etc.

I'm not keen on the sweet sicky kind, but I do like the stuff.....
It can be used in a lot of desserts, and the liquid kind in the bottle is good value.

It can turn nothing much, into a Yum.

Although I have enjoyed a few savoury dishes which included caramel,I far prefer a good quqality caramel as a sweet item.We used to make our own very rich buttery caramel when I was little,and I somehow still always compare any caramel I taste now to that delicious concoction from days gone by.My mum was a genius with confections!!!

Mmmmm. My favourite flavour of all. I like caramel even more than chocolate. Though a caramel/chocolate milkshake is the best of both worlds! However, I can't imagine it in a savoury dish - just doesn't seem right.

Aaaahhh, 'desert'?.....THAT would certainly be a different taste....bit too gritty for me! Lol!

Fresh sponge cake, vanilla ice cream, with home-made caramel sauce drizzled over..........yummy!

Salted caramel sauce 'gold' at Woolies not too bad a taste............

I love caramel as a dessert but I haven't had it for years !!!! Salted caramel seems to be current trend with cooks using caramel on everything. I have never tried it on savoury foods.

I find caramel too sweet for my liking. Never had it on savoury dishes but then I probably wouldn't choose it either.

Yes I do - actually just yesterday went out for coffee and cake with a friend. Had a slice of banana and caramel cake - it was gorgeous! Don't do that too often though.

Sorry - meant to say I don't like caramels but do like caramel sauce!
