I rather like salmon however probably not as much as ordinary white fish.
I find it is not quite as versatile as white fish and therefore I do not cook or eat it as often.
I have to admit though, since writing on recipe Yum, i no longer make simple meals like plain fried fish as that would not be a meal I could publish on Recipe yum, so I make more complicated meals and salmon just does not seem to fit in with all this.
Sick of it being on Menu's. Totally over it.
I make a Salmon Kedgeree with tinned Red Salmon, rice, celery, mushrooms, & fish stock, Italian herbs, & topped with grilled tomato & cheese.
This I much prefer!
Yes Donjo, I'm totally over it as well. And, if I see it one more time on cooking shows like MKR (with the bloody crispy skin) I am going to scream.
It has a pretty strong flavour and just can't be to everyone's taste. I don mind it too much, but I sure don't love it too much either.
Oh! fran, you're a good girl to have the patience to watch MKR! II watch NONE of those reality shows! I hate them with a passion! They're just so contrived, & the c@&$ that goes on with them it totally beyond the pale!
Give me a good BBC cop show any day! Do you watch 'No Offence', set in Manchester? It's excellent! Cheers!
Yes,we eat it once a week, I buy a kilo piece, & have it cut into 3 pieces, & that will last us 3 weeks, so we have 1/2 a cutlet a week eachI find a new salmon cutlet recipe, & then I don’t make that recipe again, for at least 12 months. If I’m in a furry, I’ll rub a tomato, basil pesto over it, mustard, or Dukka. then another evening during the week, I'll find a new tin tuna recipe, which I also make once a year.
