Do you know how to turn off the gas or electricity in an emergency?

Yes I do, but I hope I never have to in an emergency! I'd probably be very flustered!

I have absolutely no idea. Despite having been told and shown how on several occasions now.... I'm hopeless!
The gas main outside our house was severed by a digger on Friday and when the Gas man asked me if I had turned the gas off in the house, he got a blank look.... which annoyed him as he distinctly remembered showing me how to do it when we had a gas leak a few months ago and he came to mend it!
In the past I've failed to recall how to turn off water and electricity. I think I need it written down with diagrams....

Electricity, yes. Water, no. We don't have gas here so that's not a problem.

Yes, that's so important I think for anyone to know.
We only have Electricity and water....dead easy.
