I am going for a hearing test in a few weeks as I cannot understand the TV half the time and put on the subtitiles!
Someone told me there is also "clarity" as you get older so thought I would get it tested as am probably a bit deaf!!
I hear everything and it drives me crazy. I call it ninja bat hearing. Sometimes I even have to put earplugs in to get some peace. I can practically hear sparrows f@rt. I reckon I got all the hearing that my brother, father and grandfather didn't get as they are/were all deaf. By the way Finy, my brother's tv has the speakers facing down and it always sounds muffled. . . .even to me.
Rice - I thought it was the English accents.....but a friend who stayed a week ago, could understand every word clearly and I couldnt, so thought maybe i am going deaf...love your "sparrow Fart"!!!
My hearing is still perfect and I consider myself lucky as my grandfather became stone deaf in his later years and mum profoundly deaf in her later years as well.
I got a free hearing test a few years ago, since it was available at the time, and my hearing is normal I have regular testing if I notice a difference
They tested my hearing, and said it was ok.....but! there are days when I have to say''uummm?''
Not bad... Husband has selective deafness :0
I don't think I have perfect hearing but I do have pretty good hearing
I've just hit my 30s and though others may think that's too young to be hearing impaired, I did find that my hearing is no longer as sharp as it used to be. It's probably because as you age, you get exposed to all kinds of loud sounds and the exposure gradually affects your ability to hear.
I'm ditto with AJ, but I think I need a hearing test done. My husband seems to be deafer than I am.
