Do you have fire, flood or contents insurance on your home?

Yes I am definitely insured for many things.

The only thing I am not is accidental damage as I figure this rarely happens. Even though flood and fire is rare, it is so devestating when it does.

I am contents and flood and fire and I up my contents regularly.

Finy, sorry to say Fire is not that rare?
In 30 years we have had 2 fires.

Up in Nth Qld,this is absolutely essential as we have so many summer storms and floods!!! When I have had to make a claim,it was all so easy because I had taken a huge number of photos which made the inspector's job a great deal easier! I cannot say a bad thing about my insurer,whereas several friends were still waiting for their claims to be finalised almost a year later! I always am very sure to read all the fine print on policies which has been a big help.

It is a MUST no matter what!

I'm insured very well, and I don't mind saying you never want to have a fire and not have insurance.
That peace of mind means a great deal to me.
I have home,,,,contents....flood....the lot!
You just have to make sure you up the ''house'' each year for what you would need to replace it.

A lot of people don't and get caught.

Yes unit is insured however, this is making me want to check the details of exactly WHAT it is insured for.

That's a good idea, LOL. I'll take it up with hubby, though, to be honest, we don't own very many valuable things.

Thats a hell yes from me, we have worked too long and too hard to have to start from scratch if a disaster should strike.

We're insured for fie and contents but not flood as we don't live in an area that floods - thank goodness.

Does flood cover burst water pipes in the roof, dishwasher, washing machine, etc., and rain overflow.

ABSOLUTELY! I would rather go without food one or two days a week, than no home insurance.

Now looking around the Ipswich area for a home here in Queensland.....I am quite concerned how expensive home insurance will be.

I'm Not buying a Ex-flooded home, as some people are.

But, it will still be expensive to insure....I can't imagine loosing everything, with no insurance.

I have Home-Contents-Fire-Flood the Lot! with onions thanks.

It makes no sense to me at all, people often say ''Oh we just can't afford it''?

I also up the Home each year, to replace or fix...
Contents I have some insurance but, I can always go to Vinnies or Salvo's and get some beds and chairs and a table for a while...I concentrate mainly on my house, and keeping it updated.

That's every persons most expensive asset, and should never be taken lightly at all.
