I ripped out the kitchen when I bought this house and had it replaced with one designed for me.
I have heaps of cupboards but also have heaps of kitchen items -many of which I do not use, so I store a bit in my linen cupboard.
I keep it IN CASE I have many visitors even though some of the things I have not used in 5 years!
I don't think you could ever have enough of anything! Being an apartment dweller for 20 years, you do get used to a smaller kitchen area and less cupboards and storage space however, it does make you more practical in how you store things and what items you buy.
A great big, huge and emphatic NO!!!!! This old house was built with very few cupboards anywhere.I have added a lot more storage space when I first moved in many years back, but still I could use more cupboards in the actual kitchen!!
Yes, when my wife and I moved into the townhouse we currently live in we thought there was no way we would ever fill the kitchen, it's huge. It's been 2.5 years and we finally did it, it's full. It's not stuffed, or anything, but we no longer have empty drawers and cupboards. I don't know what's going happen when we finally move again.
Lots & lots of cartons' it's called! Been there, done that! Lol!
LOL!
Who has enough cupboards in any kitchen. :)
Not meeee.
I do...but I'd be happy with more!
Yes! Most of the time anyway.... we use the conservatory for extra storage in the run up to Christmas as it is as cold as the fridge that time of year and we always have vast quantities of food stacked up! If I could change one thing about my kitchen storage, I would like better vegetable racks. When we move house I will sort this!
Yes I think I do.....have had the kitchen redone since I have been here in my villa...a basic renovation with plenty of cupboards
Yes, but many of them are filled with things that are not mine and take up space.
In original house, yes, but not current.
As with every other person in Australia, would love to win a decent Lotto amount to buy land & build a house to MY specifications, which would include cupboards everywhere, like I had before!
I do not like cupboards. I prefer the look of the commercial kitchen. What I would like is a store room for food and utensils with open shelving.
Would that really be a pantry, Gia? Yes, that sounds like a pantry!
There is no such home as one with too many cupboards
Yes - when we bought our home we completely redid the kitchen to have lots of cupboard space, thankfully! We love to cook, so it's definitely a good thing.
no not enough, houses need to be designed with a large walk in pantry to store not only food items also appliances of which I am sure we have too many of, mostly unneeded, Homes many years ago had lovely walk in pantrys as large as a small room.
I have a really small which is OK but I don't have enough cupboards, I do like to stock up if items are on special
No, not all. However, I do suspect if I did have more cupboards I would simply fill them up as well.
No. Drives me nuts. I hate seeing things sitting out because there is no room.
Yes, I'm fortunate I have a very large kitchen well fitted out with plenty of cupboards, three under-bench pot drawers, and a really attractive glass-doored cupboard to display wine glasses or any glassware really. There is also a large pantry which is very useful and plenty of drawer space. I guess if I was designing a kitchen this would fit the bill. I, however, am not really interested in kitchens and spend as little time in there as possible. All my friends think I'm mad because they all love the size of it.
Sometimes I think not as we buy more and more Gadgets (retaining what we already have), perhaps if the Gadgets were made more compact it would be better.
