Do you have a "motto" in life, or maybe more than one?

What is it or what are they?

I don't live by any particular motto but I do like a lot of proverbs like for example “He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who does not ask a question remains a fool forever”

I guess my most widely used motto is "do unto others/.........." as I am a firm believer in this and in karma.

I would not do anything to anyone that I would not like having done to me.

''To thine own self be true''

Because if you can not be honest with yourself....you have no chance with anyone else!

'Life's not fair; it's just fairer than death.' - William Goldman

Sometimes I delete the last part.
Oh! Bryony, there's a very old saying here, that ends the 'life's not fair' statement.
But for various PC'ism rules, I cannot type it!
But in this Country it was a very common saying up til the '70's. And very funny!
My late Mother used to say it to me when I was a child, & stamping my foot, saying 'that's not fair!

Absolutely: "Life's too short". So go out and make the most of it!
I do like "Never give up" - a positive statement which inspires one to keep going no matter what.

Yes, in Polonius' words to Laertes, ' to thine own self be true'.
Also, 'take one day at a time'. When I was 'young' could 'plan ahead'. Don't do that anymore.
Stay Nude...Stay Free!
"Brighten the corner where you are". Since I was a little tacker.

Yes "Be good, be Best", it was my wife's motto.
She meant be good to all and try your best.
