I used to have ducted in my last two houses which we altered and whilst doing so, included ducted vacuum system.

It is fabulous and so much easier than ordinary vacuum cleaners. You do not bump a machine into door frames, or furniture and you do not have to drag anything around in order to vacuum.

However when I bought this house it did not have the system so I did not spend the money on having it installed as was not altering anything that would easily include this.

I have an ordinary commercial round vacuum cleaner. I need this because I have two dogs.

I just have an ordinary vacuum, would love a really good one ie Dyson or such but....at present other priorities

I have a Dyson. It sucks. LOL. Seriously though, it is great but tends to fall over on it's side a lot which gets annoying.

I have an ordinary vacuum cleaner

I just have a little vac that stays in my cupboard till time to come out.
I ave a good vacuum cleaner which my son bought for me when I became too ill to work any more.It is very easy to use and has excellent suction.I am more than happy with this as it does the job it is designed to do,and very well at that!!!
Just a little vacuum, I've never even heard of a ducted vacuuming system before.
We have a robot vaccuum which I bought for my husbands birthday. He is retired while I still work so he is the housework guy. It was a more expensive one and is quite good but the carpets still get done with a regular vac once in a while.
Gayle, why do you have to do them still with an ordinary one?

My husband doesn't think the robovac has sufficient suction. He seems to think it is more like a super carpet sweeper, so once a month or so he uses the ordinary vac.
I agree with him. They are great at what they do but there is no real suction. It is a Bissell with batteries. I have always wanted one though :-)))

yes i have used an ordinary vacuum cleaner before, it get the job done perfectly
I don't use any kind of vacuum cleaner, I leave that up to the staff ;)
We have an upright Dyson and a cylinder Miele and a cordless Dustbuster. I've not heard of anyone having a ducted vacuum cleaner system!
I own a Hoover, but get cleaning lady in, so my Hoover doesn't get used.
Any 'in-between' cleaning is usually just bits of fluff, so brush & tray used!
Normal vacuum cleaner, works well enough along with a battery stick one. BUT, I think they are in need of a serious overhaul! Science makes extraordinary inventions but yet to make a vacuum cleaner that is the right length, lighweight and sucks hard!
I have had 2 homes that have had ducted vacuum system but the all have a bloody great long hose on them and I was forever getting kinks in it, then scratching every doorway (when trying to vacuum behind doors) and the furniture the edges of the cupboards. And, I didn't think it was powerful enough either - not great suction. Now I just have an ordinary one, hoover, but would love a Dyson. Actually, there isn't a vacuum made that is powerful enough for me. I like em to almost drag the carpet off the floor.
You need a Kirby. It'll suck your house up :-)))

I have a Wertheim does a good job only thing storage between uses. before this always had upright cleaners always easy to store.
Next cleaner I buy will be an upright. do not know when that will be as the one I have now is still going strong.
I have always wanted a ducted one. Maybe next house. I run into my ankles an awful lot with my Dyson:(( I used to have a Panasonic upright that I really liked and it got a fault that was so expensive to fix that I bought the Dyson. I have to say that the Dyson filters (2 on my machine) are great.

We have a ordinary one, but I think there's parts of the handle missing, & one that runs off a charger & lasts about 20 minutes before it needs changing up again. We have the charger, but I've put the other part down in the house somewhere, after I used it the last time, & now we can't find it!
