I am home with two young children (preschool and toddler) and a 7 day roster shift working husband. We often have a cooked breakfast like boiled or poached eggs with soldiers or omelettes, but reserve the bacon for times when Daddy is home.
This is mostly prompted by the 14 chickens in the backyard and the amount of eggs they are laying.
Yep actually, my husband and I do. Mujffins, pancakes, scones, cinnamon buns, eggs and bacon. Weekends are special after getting up early and quickly eating a piece of toast before running out the door to work.
No. In winter we'll have porridge on Sundays, & maybe once a month, on any day of the week, I'll cook up some pancakes. My husband will have a egg maybe 1 morning a week on any day he feels like an egg, as we both retired, many years ago. When our kids went to primary school they walked, then when they attended high school they always caught a bus. After school & uni, they moved to Melbourne, so we can have cooked breakfasts...anytime!
My husbands does the cooked breakfasts on Sundays. During the warmer months its cooked outside on one of our barbies and eaten under the gazebo soaking up the morning sun. Sometimes he makes pancakes so I rarely do any breakfasts. Occasionally we will go to one of the clubs we belong to for a champagne breakfast which has only just increased in price from $6.00 to $7.00 where there is a vegetarian option or the full yummy Aussie option. At that price it's an absolute bargain. If you don't want the glass of champagne you can have coffee instead.
I have always had a cooked breakfast every day of my life, always eggs in some form or another. when a child my mother would make scrambled eggs , we also had porridge or weetbix .with full cream milk Oh how a wish we could still obtain that milk now.
