I rarely go on a picnic nowadays.

We used to go all the time when we had young children -to all sorts of interesting places in WA -now that there are no kids, it is a rare event that any of my friends organise a picnic -we would probably have trouble getting up and down from the ground nowadays!!

I often take the kids to the park at the bottom of the street for a bbq. It's such a great thing to do when it's warm enough.
No longer.
I can't sit on the grass, as my legs won't work to stand up!
I feel sitting on a blanket on grass is lovely...but just can't now.
We use too!
Lots of fun, and when my boys were little they loved it.
We go on a family picnic at least once a week - it is a lot of fun for kids to help prepare the food and then eat it in the great outdoors.

Fairly often with the kids. In fact, since you mention it I think we'll do that today.
No - we rarely go on picnics. Maybe we'll go on a picnic at the weekend!

I rarely go on picnics. I think it's because I was raised in a country where it rained almost every other day so there was not a chance of an outdoor picnic.

The last time we were on a picnic was for my mother's 95th birthday at the end of November, '16. We gave up a 2 week cruise in the south pacific to be there with her. She has very bad dementia, & 5 mins after leaving the picnic with my sister, she wouldn't have remembered being there at all, but we all enjoyed the day anyway. Our youngest daughter even flew up from Melbourne for the picnic!
