I don't follow any football teams and I don't really enjoy watching the game. I've got friends who are avid followers and they've tried to recruit me, but it's just not my cup of tea. I can always find something more fun to do. I think it's fine for other people to watch it, I have absolutely nothing against it, but it's nothing I can get excited about and just not for me. The idea of shouting at a TV screen about a sport I can't give two hoots is a bit random.
We've always followed the Sharks, in Sydney, because 1 of my b/i/l's played for them, starting in the mid 60's. We also follow St George.
In Melbourne, it's Richmond (for our little granddaughter!) & The 'Pies, for our youngest daughter's partner.
I follow Richmond but I don't usually watch or attend the games. I will watch the Grand Final, even if my team isn't playing. Sometimes I will just have it on in the background whilst I go about my daily chores. I love a close game which is usually more exciting. I am not a rabid, fanatical supporter, but I have a quiet interest in the game.
