Have you ever had the need to use ear plugs either to get to sleep or for some other reason?

I have used them when I went on a cruise with a friend who has sleep apnea. The machine she wore was so noisy that even with the ear plugs I could hear.

I have used them many times over the years - in hospital when in a shared room and as I am only insured for a share room, that is always what I get and often people snore, so i use the ear plugs.

On a plane on a long flight I use ear plugs and even in business class the noise of the engines is annoying!

I have also used them on other holidays and always take them when I go away just in case.

Mostly during the night, they annoy me and I take them out though!

oh and I forgot -i used to wear them sometimes when diving or swimming as I did a lot underwater and used to get sore ears, and also in the surf.

I keep some on my desk for when the neighbour from hell starts with the doof doof music at full volume. Who knew that earplugs could prevent murder . . !

I always carry a pair in my handbag, and also eye cover, for 'just if' I have to go into hospital & very sick....have been caught before that it's Hell! with all the light and noise.
Great idea. Too bad I didn't have those eye cover thingis when I had my son. The lights in the maternity ward had had enough. Those with lights on (me), couldn't turn them off. And those with lights off, couldn't turn them on. ALL NIGHT!

they are the best and don't take up much space in a handbag at all :)

I used to when I was studying and needed peace and quiet, but couldn't leave the house. They didn't help a lot though. Some things are so loud that earplugs don't help much at all.
I have used them in past when I was working night shifts. It was hard to sleep during the day without them. But soon I realized, they gave me headaches, so I stopped using them.

Yes, especially on long haul flights. People can get noisy getting toand from the toilet or babies or kids who are finding it hard to sleep

I have only used them recently while having MRI scans done,as these are VERY noisy!
Have a pair in my tote bag, always.
Can't stand inane conversation, or tv blaring, waiting to see any medico.

If flying, used NC headsets.........bliss! Also eye-shades! It was the reading lights, & others' conversations which used to annoy the c@&$ outta me!

The constant 'whirr' of the engines I always find comforting, as it means they're still working, & it sends me to sleep!

Even in coffee shops, use the earplugs, to restrict noisey conversations from others', & LOUD talkers' on their bee mobile phones!
Have used them this week, for new reason!

Next door, 7 level apartment complex being built, 220 'telegraph' poles have been 'crash-piled' into ground, some to depth of 12m.

But it's the constant 'thump, thump' that got on my goat! Went out mucho poss, but some days' couldn't avoid being home.
Even with doors, windows, & blinds shut, the noise was beyond the pale. The house shook at EVERY 'thump'.

Puts a new meaning to phrase, 'did the earth move for you'!

Ear plugs were last resort, when I thought my head would explode!
They made a great difference, thank goodness. Didn't have to wear them for too long, thankfully, as I get a headache rapidly with a long usage.
Yes every night as I have very noisy neighbours

Yes I need them when we visit our daughters in Melbourne, & have to share a bedroom! But they don't seem to make any difference though! I can still hear my husband snoring!
