Do you ever miss rubbish collection by forgetting to put your rubbish bin out?

Yes, it has happened.
However I have a lovely old neighbour who takes the bins in, and if I forget he always takes mine out so I don't think I have ever actually missed my collection while living in the country.

When I was on 5 acres, it was different as my property was long and I had to take out the bins by hooking on to the back of my tow bar as it would otherwise take me 10 minutes to get to my front gate (and wrestle with snakes!).

Not so in the City -now there are several things about a reverse sea change!

My garbage is placed out so I never have to contend with that problem. Sometimes stray dogs may give me some trouble but I place a cement block on the top to prevent then toppling it.

Nope. Never have. My brain seems hard wired for rubbish day. Hahaha. I get up early on that day and grab everything I can possibly throw away! Woohoo.

I always remember Rubbish day!!! It is Tuesday.The truck used to come really early so I'd put the bin out on the Monday night.Now he comes around midday so I just do a huge cull from the house,mainly fridge, and put it out early Tuesday morning! I do think that living in a hot climate helps me to remember rubbish day, as if it gets missed life becomes rather unpleasant,no matter how many fragrant trees I have growing!!

I might have once in my life, but it is something ingrained in me. We always put the bins out the night before. Even if you are busy, you can see that the rest of the street has their bins out, so it is a bit hard to forget. We never go to bed without putting the bins out.

I forgot only once while living with my parents. It was my responsibility to take the bins out, while my sister was supposed to bring them in...yes, well...One morning I woke up, remembered I hadn't taken them out, and shot out of bed to put them out before the truck rolled around. Not noticing that one of the buttons on my shirt was undone, I said hi to the neighbour...I dread to think what he saw. :-|
