I don't buy them generally however I made one the other day!
I had some tapioca large pearls which I had left over from a dessert and so i put some watermelon in the processor and poured it over my cooked tapioca, and then did the same with a kiwi fruit.

It was not an ordinary slushie but was lovely - perhaps a bit like boba or bubble tea without the tea and the sugar!

Though the tapioca took me several attempts to make as it all went to mush when I first soaked it as the packet said.

I find slushies "go to my head" like ice cream sometimes does, but I have not actually bought one from a machine like the photo for many, many years.

I haven't had one for years . . . .they give me brain freeze . . . ༼ʘ̚ل͜ʘ̚༽

thank you Rice - brain freeze is the saying I wanted but my brain would not come up with which possibly means it is permanently frozen or some such?

Maybe we both need some WD40. LOL

No, too much sugar and no substance or real flavour and I too get brain freeze from very cold "drinks", I don't like those bubble teas and similar either...
I have never had one in my life. Not interested.
When I was a child I used to get it at the in cream shop. I find those things too sweet these days.
Same here . . . makes you wonder how we ever did it!

You mean have I ever had a Brain Freeeeze!

I have never tried a slushie and am not particularly interested after reading the comments about getting brain freeze!.
I had my first one two days ago and found it terribly sweet. No wonder the kids are addicted to them. My teenage grandkids tell me that you pinch your nose as you slurp to avoid brain freeze. However, I drink slowly so avoid that.
Not since I was a child

I'm not a huge fan - I let the kids get them sometimes as a treat and I'll have a sip. I find that they just taste so synthetic and sugary. Although my neighbour had some alcoholic ones for her birthday party recently and I thought that was quite tasty! But one was definitely enough!!
No I've never wanted 1, as they look over sweet to me. If I'm out, I'd rather spent my money on a latte, or an ice coffee in summer without the sugar & cream.
