Yes, I go regularly - every 4 months or so.
Having had a melanoma, and most of my family have had one, so I go regularly to get checked. Have heard bad reports about those clinics that set up as skin clinics, so would not go there as their doctors are not trained skin specialists like a dermatologist is.
I wouldn't trust those places either.
It is funny that you should ask this, because I have an appointment with a skin specialist in a few weeks. I want to have a head to toe assessment, as I have never had one before. I recently went with my daughter to have her skin checked. She had three moles removed. They were all normal thank goodness, but she wanted them removed anyway, for peace of mind.
A few years ago I got a terrible rash all over so I had to see one. It was an allergy. We never found out what I encountered but it took months to heal and I nearly tore my skin off.
ooh you would have looked funny!
I did. LOL. Also a few years earlier, I had basil leaves imprinted on my skin for a few days . . . leant over the plant to get some mint and never realised I was sensitive to it . . . now THAT was a look!
Luckily, Rice, the pain was only during the night, from when I'd put my head down on the pillow. I haven't been able to lie on my left side, for the last 2 weeks, but the pain has now sort of eased, due to a weeks worth of painkillers. Other times I've woken up, from the pain, & I've had to fold a hand towel up, & wetting it with really hot water, then holding it to my ear, where the pain was, so I could get back to sleep.
Just to let you know Rice, I've been to the jaw Dr twice now, & wear a tooth guard over my lower teeth at night, & also while I'm home during the day. No more pain. It's been such a relief! I have 1 more visit in 9 days, & I hope that will be the end of it, as we don't have health insurance, & can't claim on Medicare. It's cost about 2 grand so far, but still cheaper than the cost of health insurance for 12 months!
No, I haven't needed to a skin specialist yet, but at the moment I've just started going to a JAW specialist, with suspected jaw arthritis. (Sorry, I know it has nothing to do with the other!!!)
Agh!! That is sooo awful, Miro :((
Oh, I hope they find some permanent relief for you.
Oh, good news Miro!! I hope it continues to improve . . . and yes, health insurance is ridiculous :(
