When I do it properly I'm not aware of it, so it's not so much something I enjoy as something I need to do. I enjoy having had enough sleep.
I feel at my best when I get a good amount of sleep (at least eight hours), but I really wish I could get by on less as there are so many other things I need to and enjoy doing.
My other half says sleep is for the weak. LOL. I have heard somebody else say they will sleep when they are dead. I just love my bed and a nice sleep :-))) I don't think recharging my "batteries" is a waste.
I'm right with you, Rice. But I have heard others say similar things to those comments you've cited, lol!
Getting a good night's sleep is crucial for me.
To much sleep is a waste of time. Say 10 hours, that's to much. 8 hours is enough for me to function.
I have to say that I often need more than eight. Nine to ten is good for me.
It's something quite vital to all of us, and getting enough of it is not always easy.
There are times I would love to be able to go without!
To me to be honest seems a waste of time, but it has to happen so I go to bed late.
Then wonder 'why' I feel tired in the morning?
Well we all have to sleep, or we will die, so it is hardly a waste of time. There's nothing I like more than to savour a sleep in, which to me means no time limits, no schedules, and days like this are rare. When we stay overnight at a hotel, we always ask for ' late checkout ', so we can have a sleep -in and take our time showering and eating. Its important to have a sleep - in now and again to give you the energy to cope with all the other days that have early starts. Sleep is restorative for the entire body, and we will get sick if we don't have enough of it.
Sleep is a necessity, it allows us to relax and recharge our inner self.
Sometimes after getting up I go back to bed for a 30 minute relaxation period, and I find that I feel more refreshed.
I just lie on the bed reading a book and drop off, waking after approx.30 mins.
It is never a waste of time and I never stay in bed until late like some do.

Hasn't anything to do 'enjoyment'!
If we DON'T sleep enough, we die.
As for 'burning the candle at both ends', that's just plain stupid.
Our bodies & brains need sleep to get all back into 'kilter', ready for the next day!
Eight hours is the best length.
I don't sleep and would love nothing more than having one night where I could sleep for 8 hours. I do lay in bed while awake as I believe the body needs rest
helga, you sound like my mother-in-law. Do you get any sleep at all?
Vee, I manage to snatch an hour or two. You do get used to it and sometimes I feel okay, other times I'm so tired I wish I could have slept an hour or so more but life is what you make it so I just get on with my day.
I'm really sorry to hear that. I know that I don't function well without sleep. I wish you all the best.
i dont really have a choice. When sleep calls I answer. If I lose sleep at night my day is a mess.
'I sleep perchance to dream'..... Shakespeare??
When I was a teenager I hated sleeping, I refused to go to bed, and was possibly suffering insomnia. Now I'm 29 and LOVE my sleep. When I sleep well its an amazing journey to a great place I call dream land. So often I have lucid dreams, where I know its a dream and I have magical powers to do what ever I want! It can be truly fantastic.
On the other hand, when I have nightmares.... I then avoid sleep for a while.... get up and do some writing!
I love sleeping, but can never get my self to bed
before midnight! If i’m flying interstate or I'm going on a cruise, I never get to bed until 2/3am of the morning I’m going way, so i only get about 4 hours sleep before I have to wake up again!
How can it be a waste of time -it IS definitely a waste of time in the day but at night, that is what our bodies are tuned to and need, so yes, I enjoy it
I love sleeping and dreaming
For the most part, I would agree with you. But dreaming can be scary. O.o
