I believe it is healthy to have a regular massage.
Some people do not like them, and others love them.

Have you ever had a massage?

Do you like having a massage?

Have you had a professional one, or one with your partner?

Yes. I really like it. I think the key is to find a masseuse who you feel comfortable with who is good at what they do and totally professional. The best massage I have had was a remedial sports masseuse and the second best was at the osteopath's surgery before seeing the osteo, they sort of warm-up the muscles first.
I used to have one every month and it is so good.
I go to someone who was a nurse and it is apparently good for your lymphatics, and I feel so great afterwards.

My partner and I regularly give each other massages. They're so invigorating. We also had a professional full body massage each when we were on our honeymoon, which was great except they didn't do our feet! How can a full body massage not include feet?!
by Vee
It can't not include feet! But I guess they got away with it as you paid them.
by Finy
I know. Feet are the best part!

While in Bali recently, I had a foot & hand massage very close to the place we were staying at in Canggu. My feet did feel wonderful afterwards. They were on the 'menu' as seperate items. Then we went up to Ubud, where we both had a body massage, but not at the same time. I had the 1st 1, then my husband had 1. There was only 1 girl doing them. I have always enjoyed them before, but this time the girl sniffled all the way through it, which was very off putting, & I couldn't RELAX! They were only A$10 there, so we didn't loose too much money! We had them the morning of our flight home. We're hoping to return to Bali again next year, so I'll have a couple more then, but not at the 2nd same massage place!!!

I used to have a fortnightly massages when I was living in Thailand. It was a professional one with and I loved being pampered. It was a stress free and blissful after a 3hr massage. I am looking forward to it when I visit thailand again.Unfortunately the massage by my partner left me sore and have to tell him he is a bad masseuse !

I try to have a massage at least once a week
I love getting massages. I get it free with my own very personal masseur. My husband is just fantastic with it.
yes please any and every day

My husband has given me a massage years ago, when we were still married.
I must say it is relaxing.

I had someone give me a foot bath with one, and I hated that!
Way too up-close-and-personal.
yep - just hard to find the time (and money)
Yes I love that. I had ayurvedic massag whilst in India.
I had several chocolate massages on holidays in Bali and they were simply amazing.
by Lucy
Lucy -what is a chocolate massage -can only IMAGINE!
by Finy
Chocolate massage involves having melted chocolate dripped all over you and the lovely Balinese therapists rub it in so that it dries and then is sort of exfoliated off at the end. Wow.
by Lucy
Who doesn't? Well, I actually knew some who didn't.
I enjoy both the professional and the lovely loving one from my partner.
Each have their merits.

Oh yes, and its very good for you but have a number of friends and family that hate them and feel completely uncomfortable. I live in Asia for 14 years and used to get a massage weekly. A wonderful way to de-stress. Had them at home and that's good too. I particuarly love foot and head massages. they just take you away.
Oh yes! Finding the time is always a problem, though.
yes I've done it. yes I like it and it was with my partner..........Hey!!!! he is prof enough

i dislike the ones at the hairdressers when they wash your hair, hate it
Most definitely YES. I have a professional massage every 3 weeks. Besides relieving stressed muscles also aids whole of body health. My therapist incorporates other techniques such myofacial and polarity.
Years ago on an inclusive holiday which had lots of treatments plus another on a spa day. Would have liked if not 'told' to relax! I'm physically tight and would be good for me but prefer physio as no guff about how to react. If ever win the lottery will have physio regularly.
I do love neck and shoulder massage with facial and head when hair done.
It's just the full body one...
I have had several professional massages and love them. I agree it is very healthy to have regular massages if you can.
Haven't had a professional massage, but it sounds relaxing.

This week had to go to Physio for a badly cricked neck. By the time he finished working on the very tight & sore neck muscles, I was nearly asleep!
Just do it. ✔

I dislike the massage given by hairdressers when your hair is washed.
Flaga, I had a head massage before I had my hair washed & cut, in Hong Kong, in April '92 I think it was, it was @ 6pm. It was 'dreamy'!!! I felt so good afterwards, & even the haircut turned out very well, which I was slightly worried about.
by Miro
Except for hairdresser which I didn't like I haven't had one. It sounds invasive to me but maybe i should give it a go. I also don't feel comfortable being touched by strangers.
Yes I love them, but I haven't had 1 for a few years now. but we're going to Bali for a wedding in 10 days, so I hope to have a couple over there before we return home, in fact I'll try & have 1 in each place we stay at, during our 2 weeks there.
by Miro
Wonderful, Miro! Have a great time!
by Vee
Definitely, it feels so good. Sometimes you go somewhere and have a disappointing massage, but even a "bad" one really isn't bad!
Oh god, Icertainly do, I could stay on the table all day and have massages from day till the evening.
