I have thought hard but I am just not sure. The only thing I do know is that I make an abominable mess :(

Well, I know you don't make baked chicken in your broken oven. LOL

I eat with one hand if I am out and I just HAVE to eat the bone!
However now that I am alone at home, I generally eat bones using both hands.

I will always start off with one hand as I want one hand clean, but usually end up with both as you can get more meat off the bone - yeeks, or am I talking about my two dogs! Wonder if I bury any!!!!

When I did each the meat off a bone many many years ago, it was with 2 hands.

I can see that eating with one hand looks far better than two.
After all....doggies like to use 1 Paw!
Oops each = eat.....sorry

What an interesting question, since we had chops for dinner last night !! I usually hold the bone in one hand and pick off the meat with my other hand. My husband sometimes has ribs, if they are on the menu, and he eats them with two hands. It is a messy meal, so it is expected to be a two handed meal. I never consider etiquette when eating bones. You are just supposed to get in there and be an animal
One hand . I like to keep one hand totally clean.
I would have to admit to using both hands, just because it is so much easier for me!!! Eating the meat from the bones when I was little was always the fun time when we were allowed to be a bit messy, so I cannot imagine trying to keep one hand totally clean!!! Takes all the fun and half the enjoyment out of it!!!! !
Two hands!

If you're going to chomp on a bone, you need to get ALL the meat off it, not just half!
Exactly

one hand is the accepted method.. my father who lived to 90 would never eat this way. always used his knife and fork. we would point out the meat he was leaving on the bones , did not make any difference (well the dogs did alright afterwards) rest of the family would happily chop on the bones, with one hand.
I use two hands. I didn't realise that I should only use one hand!
