Before taking any herbal medicines, do you first discuss it with your General Practitioner?

Or do you not think it is necessary to discuss it with a doctor first?

Because I am on several other medications which are prescriptions, I would discuss most herbal ones before taking them.

I was recently taken off a few including calcium as they have discovered they are not good in all cases, and can actually do harm, so in future I think I would discuss them all first before taking them.

I don't take any, but if I was going to then I would discuss with doctor, yes.

No I wouldn't because I don't suffer from any conditions or allergies that are likely to affect me if I take them. I don't take herbal medicine anyway though.
I tend to make up my own mind...

I discuss taking ANYthing with my doctor as so many seemingly innocuous things can interact with my necessary medication. It is not worth becoming ev en sicker just by not taking the time to ask questions.
No, I discuss it with my naturopath :)
I don't necessarily discuss them before taking them - I'm not on any other medication or treatments which they may interfere with. But any time I go to my GP I make sure I let them know anything that I am taking such as supplements or herbal preparations. I also discuss these with my dietician when I see her.
I don't but it is probably a good idea to discuss with GP first

Can't say I do.
Would discuss ANYTHING with my GP before taking it!
With other medications, you don't know what others' may do in conjunction. Too dangerous.
I would not and do not take anything like this.
