No, I rarely cook a roast.
In fact I cannot remember when I last cooked one.
I do not eat red meat often, perhaps once or twice a month but a roast is something I do not make any more apart from a roast duck that I have made several times this year.
We usually have them on special occasions, or if the family come over. Nothing brings a family round the table than a delicious roast dinner. Our favourite is lamb or beef. They are so easy to make, and they satisfy everyone's tastes. My parents are very fussy eaters, but the whole family loves a roast with all the trimmings, and gravy.
Lamb!
My butcher does small, rolled Rosemary & Mint ready to cook lamb roasts.
Love to thinly slice next day on fresh bread, with a cuppa!
Yep, lamb roast crispy potato and pumpkin or that sweet potato that isn't orange and peas and mint sauce. Expensive now. But who doesn't love a roast and further, I don't think there is anything as easy as a roast. Meat in first then the vegetables, make the gravy yourself or buy one of the excellent ready made, off the shelf ones available now. If only people could carve the roast meat these days, always seems to me to be hacked. Bother.
Yes, fran, I, too, believe a Roast is the easiest meal to prepare, & what a beautiful meal it always is! Just love it! Cheers!
