Do you cook the same type of fish regularly?

Or do you buy what is on special?

Do you still buy imported raw fish?

I do not buy a particular one however I will only buy Australian fish to cook.

I generally do not buy by price and often buy Schnapper or Baby Schnapper as I like the taste of this.

I adore Spanish Mackerel which has been freshly caught here in North Qld.and I have a friend who regularly goes out Reef Fishing,so I am lucky to get lots of Coral Trout,Sweet Lip and other reef fish.I know it is always super fresh, and I also where it has been caught,Yum! Price never comes into the equation for me with fish.It MUST be fresh,It MUST be Australian!!!
gosh, yo sure have nice sounding food of all types up there.

Yes!! I am so spoilt all yrear round with the climate allowing for growing such gorgeous and luscious fruits and vegies, and also having the very nicest friends who share their bounty as I do mine!!! No wonder I am so content with life!!!

I love salmon and flathead, but those are often quite expensive in the amount we need so we don't eat it terribly often.
When I was a kid growing up in Victoria in the 60's and 70's Flathead was one of the really common fish!!! Super cheap and plentiful!!!! Our friends who went fishing, even from the local pier, always came home with lots of this delicious fish, and we were lucky enough to be given a generous share!! Many folk would not even eat this wonderful fish, complaining about the bones. But like all fish,if we are careful, the bones will not be a problem. It truly amazes me how very expensive fish has become nowadays. It ios little wonder that I look back on my early years with immense enjoyment and actually now appreciate just how very spoilt we were where fresh food was concerned!

My favourite is salmon so that's what I usually buy

The only way I eat fish is in sushi. I'm not a big seafood fan.
I cook whatever my husband or I feel like.

I go out for lunch quite regularly and try to ensure I often have fish, even fish and chips. At home I am not really that fussy, tend to buy the crumbed variety....(yes prob cheaper!)

Criteria for us is Australian and fresh not thawed and then whatever is cheapest.
Always different. Depending on my cooking method I'm going to use.

I enjoy baked, shallow fried crumbed & grilled.
But many times just buy it 'on the way home' from a fabulous fish shop nearby. Then it's grilled! Schnapper, Barramundi or Perch. If cooking myself, Tailor's my fav or D/S Mullet, as crumbed shallow fried fillets. Do enjoy a Baked Fish of the Day, with Orange & Lemon slices. Or Tomato & Onion slices. Yum!
Whatever it is, plenty of LEMON juice squeezed over it!

Any fish that is Australian or New Zealand.
Usually steamed fillets or a whole fish steamed, baked, fried or whatever.
Never ever Basa.....ever
I'll buy a kilo of salmon cutlet & have it cut into 3 slices. This will last us 3 weeks. Another dinner during the week, I'll use a medium size tin of tuna in a recipe I'll only make once a year.
