Do you celebrate 'New Year's Eve' or 'New Year's'?

We have taken on America quite a bit. Even living in America, sometimes it is still easy to speak like one. For example: "A party of two." The latter can roll off my tongue when lease expected. I celebrate the new year on NYE (being today, as at the time of writing this). I celebrate New Years Day on NYE.

I am with you.

For those of us who are Australians, (not all live in OZ who answer on here).

As the Americans are proud to be American, why? can't we keep what is our's.
One word........................ 'Television'.

We are indoctrinated into mainly the bulk of what we see and hear on t.v.

That's your culprit right there.!

New Years Eve - celebrating New Year's would mean celebrating the day of the 1st of January to me, when usually I would celebrate the night before, the "eve" of the new year.
