Do you ask the doctor what your actual results are: eg: what your blood pressure reading is, what you iron levels are, what you blood sugar levels are etc as opposed to just whether they are "fine" or "bad"?
I always ask for specifics, yes. I like to be a very active health consumer :) I ask lots of questions and sometimes they're surprised by it because I don't have a "just do what the dr tells you" attitude.
I always ask. I learned the hard way that it pays to be very well informed about my health and any tests and procedures I'm having done. I'm very pleased to have found a GP who goes through what all the letters mean on a blood test referral form and who goes over the results with me (and gives me a copy of the results for my records). I find this especially useful when I'm then talking to other health care providers such as physio or dietician.
