I must b one of the lucky ones! I do not get these calls at all! But I have had a Silent Number for more years than I can remember, so I may be rather hard to find!! The only people who have my number are those who I have personally shared it with, i.e. my family and my friends!
I haven't had many and the older I get the less I feel inclined to answer calls from numbers I don't recognise. I have actually got a caller barred at the moment. If I do get the odd call that I have answered for some reason . . . the telemarker/scammer gets a time out in the empty washing machine. *evil chuckle*
You are so lucky, Flaga, if people leave messages !!! Some of my friends and family do, but a lot don't. Older people especially tell me they don't like talking into machines. It frustrates me when people don't leave a message. I cant be home 24 hours a day to answer the phone. HMM !!!
I once had a job doing telephone surveys. They actually make calls all day (we used to do it between 9am and 8pm), but the early evening is when people are most likely to answer the phone because they're home then. If I have time I do the survey because I know what it's like doing that job. If I don't I'll ask them to call back another time (you can ask for a specific time that's more convenient). If I'm really busy I just don't answer the phone and check my messages later.
No, Thank heavens, we hadn't had any phone polls for 2/3 years, because we were given a change of phone No, we didn't ask for. We insisted on keeping the No we'd had since 1979, but was told, " No that wasn't possible" Then our original landline No was given to someone else.
