I have, for the last 3 years, had lunch with another signle girlfriend of mine.
We have a nice quiet lunch and this year I have bought two ducks instead of turkey which I often find is dry.
So, as this is something I do yearly, yes I already have arrangements for Christmas day lunch.
Oh! Find, sounds great, & very relaxing! Enjoy!
I know where I'll be and who I'll be with but I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to cook. There will be fresh fruit, and Christmas cookies but I don't know what else yet.
I am afraid that it is just not a major event on my calendar!! If my son was living nearby we would get together, but I now live alone, apart from my dogs, and it is so hot here in Nth Qld, that I prefer to simply have a delightfully quiet and coll day in the Air Conditioned comfort of my home.Anyone is very welcome to visit if they wish to,but I do not venture out! I tend to just have lots of delicious 'finger' food type delicacies and luscious fresh fruit which is always so easy to enjoy. It involves almost NO preparation and there is little rubbish to have to dispose of in the heat as well!! Basically I have what I always seem to enjoy on weekends,so maybe I am just a wee bit lazy?!!!Hee Hee Hee!!!!
Oh! wow well if we lived closer guess who would be stopping by :) ME!
I do find this is the friendliest and loveliest way to celebrate such a festival! Think of me wherever you happen to be!! And I shall do likewise for you!
No sadly.
Every Year we go to family, but due to a ''fall-out'' with my daughter-in-law....It is not looking good.
She wants little to do with me at the moment, and so it will just be my youngest son and myself....which is fine :)
Oh! jonaj, enjoy whatever you do! Cheers!
Yet again, the photo is beautiful, so colourful! Thank you!
Oh, jonaj, that's sad. What a silly thing. I don't cope with fallings out at all, very stressful. I hope you have a Merry Christmas whatever happens and I hope she comes to her senses (。◕‿◕。)
Bless ya heart! Rice Paper :) she is a difficult lady....not much one can do.
Jonaja, I just love your Christmas tree picture, even though our Christmas's were always colour coordinated with just 2 colours. Your tree picture is beautiful.
We have already made our plans for this Christmas. We are spending the day with two of our friends.
My sons will celebrate with me Christmas Day. Could be an extra friend as well. Lunch will be our main meal, turkey, prawns, ham and salads. A nice frozen dessert bought from the supermarket for dessert. Simple, relaxed, no stress. It will be a nice day. Will spend time with other family members before Christmas Day.
Am in process of doing so!
I've a couple of choices, & will choose what's best for me, closer the day.
Either way, it will be a good time!
Merry Xmas to all my 'Answer Angel' friends!
Oh yes. We have the family come to us every year, and the menu we have is pretty much the same every year. We have the traditional roast with all the trimmings every year, so there is not much to arrange.
Yes - out to friends for dinner on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, I have my son, his girlfriend and half a dozen friends round for a cold buffet lunch/dinner - it tends to go on most of the day so people just eat when they feel like it.
We celebrate family Christmas on Boxing Day as the family like the children to enjoy the presents santa left them on the actual day. It's been an all day seafood BBQ which we've been dong for about 40 years now
Yes, we are going out for Christmas dinner this year. We did it for the first time last year and it worked really well. The family gathered together at our house for present giving by the tree then we went to a restaurant and had the most amazing meal.
The restaurant owner son in law dressed up as Santa and had a little gift for all the children there. It was funny becasue afterwards, when he had changed out of costume and come in his own children ran to tell him he had missed Santa.
It was great, nobody had to cook or clean up and the whole family got to relax and enjoy the day.
Thinking of the season gives me a headache. I know I have to do all the traditional stuff but sometimes I just want to spend some quiet time at home.
For 2016 . . yes. We shook hands on it. The one just gone was *such fun*, we agreed to never do it again. We are having it at my brother's place so "the others" can't come. Ho, ho, hum.
AS it's only May, as I write this, we don't have our plans in order yet. Each 2nd year 1 of my 2 sisters has Christmas at her place. Every other year we go to Melbourne to stay with family If the Sydney family have an early Christmas, we can do both, as we did last year. The 2 daughters in Melbourne can't come up here for Christmas, because they have to spend the day with the in-laws families.
I also LOVE your Christmas tree, Jonaj. It's so pretty.
As it's now only early April 2018 when I've found this question again, I hope 1 of my sisters will be having an early Christmas, so we can go to Melbourne & spend it with my daughters in-laws at their holiday house again, in Yea.
No I haven't made arrangements for christmas day for this year, It's the last thing on my mind at present.
