Lots of people like to ‘make their own’ sometimes. I prefer to crochet, which do you prefer?

On the whole, I prefer crochet though I am just learning to knit socks which I am finding mildly addictive and my crochet UFOs are having to take a backseat whilst I knit!
What are crochet UFOs? They sound interesting ...
UnFinished Objects - the term is also used for quilting, patchwork, any kind of craft really! I have lots of different projects on the go all the time so lots of UFOs :)
Oh gosh, I have had sooooo many UFOs!
My mom used to crochet when I was a child. I only learnt to make a chain. I never learned knitting. I have seen very creative pieces made by both technique. I love them both

I love the final products of both of them Gia, and the restful and repetive nature of crochet is a lovely calming way to spend a quiet evening every now and then. And I love making colourful blankets! Unfortunately, the internet tends to steal my time away from me during the day so I rarely crochet then. If I committed to it, I could do it, but then the same is true of many things - exercise, healthy eating, writing, reading - the list is endless, and choosing which to do is a big task!
I can not stand the look of Crochet Sorry to say, I have fallen in love with the hand knitting just this week.

Never having seen anything like it, (I must live in a box!) But it really appeals to me, and the big stitches look great...but that is just me :)
p.s. I really do not intend to offend anyone, esp the writer of this question :(...

We're all different, and like different things. I love the loose and easy look of your kind of knitting, which I hadn't heard of until seeing it on HubGarden.
I know, it is very different kind of knitting ....but I like it :) too.

I don't mind either.

I can't do either.
Oh Briony, what a shame for you - sitting down on a comfy sofa with a piece you're working on is a lovely peaceful and productive way to spend an evening. But as I wrote on another reply, we're all different!
I think the results look lovely, but I just don't have the patience for it - nor can I stand sitting for such a long period of time.

Yes, I love the results of both, but I only love doing one - crochet is the one I love the best, and I love the way is makes me feel connected with my long gone grandmother, who taught me how to crochet years ago when I was young.
I knit mostly as have been doing that for so many years.

Tried to learn crochet but found it difficult -i am ambi dexterous and have problems with some things
by Finy
That's interesting, I'd always assume being ambi dextrous would make everything easy. You don't know the truth about things, until someone dealing with it tells you. Thank you.
A little bit of column A and a little bit of column B
I love crochet
Oh they're lovely!
I love both! I enjoy knitting scarves, but am especially attracted to crochet, even though I'm a total beginner. I love vintaged crochet doilies, and always enjoy the gorgeous crochet goodies at art markets and fetes.
Yes those markets are wonderful places to find quirky and creative things. One offs, once weres and so on, away from the mass market!
iI saw a young mother the other day wearing a pr of crochet shorts, which were had the squares edged with lime green.

I love the blanket in the photo, Carolyn. I've never crochet, & I haven't knitted since between 1963-1966, when I was knitting a few thick woollen jumpers!
by Miro
Thanks Miro, I find pleasure in making blankets, that help to keep my loved ones warm in winter! And crochet helps to keep my fingers and hands nimble!
