We have become a politically correct society and in most this is progress, a respect for each other. But do we sometimes get carried away. Might not some terminology which although historically derived from a gender base, be allowed to evolve to a broader application.

Can the Chairman of the Board not describe either man or woman; the word chairman referring to the occupation and not the gender?

Chairman or chairperson, what do you think?

Lets make it ''Chairperson of the Board''
Person. It's not the default setting to be a man, it is the default to be a person.
Doesn't really bother me either way.

I dislike the word chairperson, chairman in my mind is the correct word. I wonder who thought up this new word "person"
MMM :-/ Who is really getting offended at these things? I have no issue with Chairman.
