Can you jump up out of bed as soon as you wake up?

Can you jump up out of bed in the mornings as soon as you wake, or do you lie still for a few minutes first?

I cannot do this and one of the reasons is I have to put two lots of drops in my eyes on waking, and before sleeping.

However, even before that, I need to lie for several minutes at least and cannot just open my eyes and jump up as many people do!

I would not be able to function.

Well I am a morning person and do wake up early, used to jump out and make a cuppa but now before that I have to limber up and do some stretches first!

No way. Mornings are not my thing.
Once I am awake I am on. The body and the brain gets going.

I get up at 6 am every day!! I just LOVE the quiet early hours .I never use an alarm clock, yet always wake at about 10 to 6 if not earlier!! I do not BOUNCE out of bed as I used to thanks to very severe poly arthritis,but I am definitely wide awake as soon as I open my eyes,and am ready for the day ahead. I have to get out of bed very carefully, and this means rather S-L-O-W-L-Y though!
I can if I have to but I bitterly resent having to do it and feel grumpy all day as a result. I would rather set my alarm ten minutes earlier than required, to have time to lie in bed thinking about getting up, than have to jump straight out!

Yes and on a work day I would. But on the weekends I like to stay in bed and read for a little while before getting up.
Jump out of bed? No way. I tend to get up as soon as I have turned the alarm off but I do it slowly. My brain takes a while to get into gear. My body is a bit achy first thing but gets better as the day goes on.
No, unless it's my alarm ringing to catch a flight!

Normally, just roll over & go back to sleep, as time is not of the essence for me nowadays!

Nope; I've never been able and I doubt I ever will.
Definitely not, I like to approach the day in a calm and gentle way. Jumping out of bed in the mornings just sounds too darned 'hyper'.
No. I like to 'come to' slowly. I set my alarm so that I have two lots of 9 minute snoozes before I have to get up. Waking up and jumping straight up is not healthy - well, for me anyway! :)
YOU GOTTA B KIDDING. getting me out of bed is an hour long feat!
I set my alarm for about 7.30, & go walking with a friend at 8, (IF she's going walking,) but usually I wake before the alarm goes off, & I get onto my laptop, which is on my bed, before I have to get up, dress in my walking cloths & set off to my friends house.

No when I get out of bed I take it slowly. I sit up first then try to find my feet and wobble to the loo. It sounds like the morning of the sloth. It takes me to 12 til I feel normal with lots of cups of tea.
